I am looking for information about my great-grandfather, Private James Carmichael, who served with the 1st Battalion of the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) and was killed during the Battle of Loos (Sept 1915). All I know is that he was born in Govan, Glasgow and enlisted in Hamilton, Lanarkshire. As he was killed when my great grandmother was only four months pregnant with my grandmother, information is rather sparse and I would like to know a little bit more about him. I bekieve my great-grandmother was living in Aharacle during the war
