Hello, my name is Pam McIntosh and I wish to find out about the parents of my great grandfather Duncan Weir. I believe that his father was named James Weir and mother was Mary nee Dimmock. They possibly lived at MidCalder in West Lothian.Although the town of Lanarkshire has been named on some of the documents I have. Would anyone know about the family please as I am putting together a Weir family history. I also believe that Duncan was married to a Jane but she died either on a boat,as it sailed to Aus or after it arrived in Aus.The Blanche arrived in Aus in 1852. Duncan, a farm laborour emigrated to Aus with Jane to work in the gold mines at Geelong and Ballarat. He married a Elizabeth Weir nee Anderson in Mel, Aus in 1853. Would love to find out if any of Duncan's descendants are alive. I hope someone will be able to help me please.
