I am looking for anyone who is able to help me with my husband's grandmother. Her name was Elizabeth Currie and she was born about 1913. As far as we know the family lived in Kirkconnell, at least they did in 1932. Elizabeth's father was Robert Currie and his occupation on her death certificate was given as a miner. Her mother was Agnes nee Gray. Elizabeth was married at least once that we know of. The first marriage was to Robert Smith in 1934 at Kier Mill, the 2nd marriage was supposedly in 1946 to Thomas Walker in Essex, England. This is a far back as I have been able to get with her family as there is only my Father-in-law still living and he doesn't remember anything except a few names. He remembers living with his Grandparent, Robert and Agnes in Kirkconnell and then his mother took him to England when he was 13 to live with her and Thomas Walker. He never saw his grandparents after that and has no idea when they died. The family emmigrated to Australia in 1955 and Elizabeth and Thomas are both buried here.
Anyone who is able to help, it will be greatly appreciated.
