HUGHES - Looking for the death place of my elusive James
Hughes, he died in Strabane in 1930 and his wife Margaret
Hughes nee Donaghy died there in 1934, neither they nor any
of their children are buried in the town cemetery. I would
guess they are buried in a church cemetery but which one! I
checked the local papers for an obituary without success.
They married in the 1st Strabane Presbyterian as the Donaghy
family were Presbyterian. All of their children were bpt in
the 1st and in Camus. In the 1901 census James said he was
54 yrs old making year of birth c1847. I have them in Trade
Directories from the 1880s there. James and Margaret had 2
sons in Scotland before returning to Strabane.
Anyone connect with this family or have clues to help locate
his birthplace?
