>>>MICHAEL FOLEY AND BRIDGET MURPHY IRE/NEWFOUNDLAND/JERSEY CITY NJ<<<

I have the death certificate for my great great grandmother, MARY MATTHEWS. MARY was born about 1837 in Newfoundland,Canada to MICHAEL FOLEY & BRIDGET MURPHY and came to the USA at one year of age. She died at 76 years of age in JerseyCity NJ. I believe her husband's name was either James or John MATTHEWS. In the MATTHEWS burial plot there are 14interred,, 8 babies or children. The adult names, all MATTHEWS/MATHEWS are:
...James R born 1858 Ireland
...Mary b 1837 Canada
...Adelaide b 1868 USA
...Margaret b 1865 USA
...Mary b 1866 USA
...Augustus b 1873 USA
The parents names of the children/babies are:
...James & Mary
...James & Bridget
...John H & Mary J
...John & Mary
>>>I have no information for MICHAEL FOLEY & BRIDGET MURPHY other than their names as Mary's parents on her deathcertificate. On the 1880 census I have JOHN HENRY MATTHEWS narried to MARY KELLY. I believe John Henry is Mary's son. Itstates he was born NJ, his father Ireland, mother, Newfoundland. That fits the death cert. MARY KELLY was born NJ, both parents from Ireland. I also believe that one of JOHN HENRY & MARY's children is buried in the family plot & they areJOHN H & MARY J listed as the parents. I still am researching this.
***It's bad enough having the name John Kelly as my grandfather & greatgrandfather & Moran on my Mom's side, but I alsohave Kelly's & Moran's on my Dad's side as well.
Life is not easy! Please!!! give your kids different names!LOL
Any info greatly appreciated.
Blessings...
Jeanine
