>>>OWEN MORAN - CATHERINE DUFFY TO JERSEY CITY NJ<<<
OWEN MORAN married CATHERINE DUFFY
OWEN emigrated about 1870
I don't know if they were married in Ireland or USA
Settled in Jersey City NJ
Children: all USA born
...Patrick b 1872
...Mary b 1874
...John b 1876 married Elizabeth Garry 1900
...Edward b 1878
...James b 1879
...Joseph b 1881 married Jessie Weeks
...Bridget b 1882 married JOHN KELLY 1900 (My grandparents)
...Thomas b 1885
...Edward b 1887 **
...Joseph or Josephine b 1889****

**There were 2 Edwards born, both on Oct 29, 1878 & 1887. At first I thought the dates were transposed but on furtherchecking I noticed I have an Edward on the 1880 census at age 2. I also have a copy of the Baptism Record Book for 1887 and another Edward. I believe the first Edward may have died & the second was born on the same date, unless of coursethere was a mistake on the name on the Baptism Record Book. There is no Edward listed on the 1900 Census.
****I am not sure if this is Joseph or Josephine as the records are in Latin. However, on the 1900 census Joseph islisted as being born 1881 with the age as 9 when it should have been 19. There is no Josephine.
OWEN & CATHERINE had 13 children, 7 living in 1900.
>>>My mother had said we were from County Mayo. As there are many MORAN's from Mayo it is probably true.
I would appreciate any information anyone may have on my Greatgrandparents family.
Blessings...
Jeanine
