Looking for ANY information on Hugh Hughes/Mary Pritchard, parents of Edward Hughes who was born on 13 April 1859 in Bethesda, near Bangor, Carnaervonshire, Wales. I understand Hugh Hughes was a farmer. Their son Edward worked on board various ships and arrived in NZ on the AVALANCHE (and decided not to rejoin his ship) around 1875 aged 16. Edward remained in NZ and on 8 Sept 1894 married Annie Butler (widow of Mr Tawle) in Wellington. They had three children, Owen William Hughes(?), Mary Hughes (?) and Arthur George Hugh Hughes.
