Searching for any family of William Washington Mills. William was born around 1786 and supposedly came to America as a "stowaway" on a ship when he was a teenager. He married Catherine Wheeler in Dorchester County, Maryland. He became a sea captain and eventually moved to Rockingham County, NC with his family. He died aft 1834.
